Launched in 2022, the Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Information Sharing Scheme mandates carmakers to share repair information with independent mechanics and training institutions. Click Creative was appointed by Suzuki Australia to design and develop a solution providing subscription-based access to technical service & repair information (manuals), as well as service bulletins, owner's manuals and other technical resources for all recently manufactured motor vehicles in Suzuki Automotive's range of vehicles produced for the Australian market. This highly-technical project was delivered on time and on budget. Exceeding all expectations functionally and practically, the platform now provides direct access to repair methods for the entire Suzuki Automotive Dealer network, Australia wide.
Created interface components in adherence with Suzuki Motor Corporation's global style guidlines and implemented:
The Suzuki Automotive Manuals website employs a minimalist web design approach emphasising usability. The primary navigation bar utilises a horizontal layout with clear and concise labels, adhering to best practices for F-shaped reading patterns. The website adheres to a two-toned colour scheme, predominantly utilising white space with accents of navy blue. The subtle addition of blue, red, green tones gently accentuates some the imagery and action buttons without being too excessive.
This colour choice fosters a sense of professionalism and aligns with the brand as well the website's informative nature. The generous use of white space effectively separates content sections and enhances readability, contributing to the overall user-centric design philosophy. This focus on user experience principles is evident throughout the website, reflecting its primary function of providing a streamlined and efficient platform for accessing Suzuki vehicle manuals.
The technical challenges presented with this project required a very experienced development team, with our Technical Lead taking the reins as principal architect responsible for planning the most suitable technologies and solution approach.
Automotive service and repair manuals are typically extremely complicated in structure and very large in size, and sometimes include many thousands of supporting images and illustrations. The manuals provided to our team for this project were also designed for offline browsing, provided on a series of DVDs.
Our team successfully designed and developed a software-based solution providing complete automation of the import process for all manuals, indexing and preserving all relational objects and displaying them as fully functional and searchable HTML service manuals online.
